Fire, is at one point a beautiful thing that warms you up but on the other hand its a deadly creation. In Night fire is deadly. It is the first thing the Jews see when they show up at Auschwitz. The fire in a way represents Hell. The fire they see is from the crematory where people were killed.
Night, its this peaceful thing that people love to look at and count the stars. Once they go through the camps and realize the things that go on its not as peacful. Its a dark place, but to them the dark is now becoming normal. The feeling of being lonely and depressed is becoming normal.
Julieks Violin, Towards the end of the book his violin becomes a story teller. When Juliek dies Elie hears the violin playing one of Beethoven's pieces. Not only that but the Julieks life is playing out with the song. You could probably hear the pain that he went through, while at the camps.
